If you’re lucky enough to live near multiple flight schools and have a variety of training options, choosing the right one can be confusing. So, it’s a decision worth putting some thought into.
- MFA – Malaysian Flying Academy
- HMA- HM Aerospace
- LLFA – Layang Layang Flying Academy
- IATAC – International Aero Training Academy
- CAE – CAE Oxford Aviation Academy (For Air Asia MPL Cadets Only)
There’s more to it than just walking into the nearest one. Careful consideration of the training environment, instructors, and aircraft will ensure you get through training quickly and easily. And remember, flying should be fun. If you find you’re not enjoying yourself at any point during your training, don’t be afraid to put up a complain and get what you paid for.
Take note that schools performance will improve by time and your feedback is important for them
The Fees May Differ
Based on 5 Star Rating System
Hidden/Extra Charges – Lower rating more charges
If you guys are wondering why MFA & IATAC rating is different for bad weather frequency even though they share the same runway. It is because of the type of aircraft being operated and instructors advice. Some don’t prefer to fly even though there is a micro cumulus.
For MFA, there is no slot booking fees:
The RM 90,000 mentioned above is the confirmation fees which you would pay after passing the entrance examination

I believe this isn’t an accurate comparison at all. This method only works when the cadets/students in the survey has experienced all of the flight schools. Otherwise its just a personal rating scale which cant be used to compare.
For example, flight school A is better than flight school B
You asked student that only studied in A and another in B to give a score. Student A says 6/10 and students B says 8/10. This will show flight school B is better. But thats because everyone’s scale of rating is different. If both students experience both schools student A may say flight school A is 6/10 but flight school B is 4/10. And student B after experiencing a better flight school A will say flight school A is 9/10 and B is 8/10.
This method only work if the students in the survey experienced all the flight schools or its just a measure of personal scale rating on your own flight school.
Yes its personal scale rating
Thanks For the Feedback
But, anyways thank you for the efforts on gathering the general data. 🙂
Fully Understood Sir,
Really appreciate your feedback
Will do a better survey in future
Thank You
Hi there
You mentioned that MFA has 90K confirmation fees. Does that actually mean that other flying schools has no confirmation fees whatsoever? And can you explain briefly about slot registration fees?
The slot registration fee is like a confirmation fee. It’s better to contact the school. As the fees may differ.
Slot booking fees I mean haha
